This week I accepted the challenge to be silent and sit in silence for 48 hours or more. No speaking, no texting, no TV, no audio books, no Facebook, no internet – nothing but me and my mind for as long as I can do it. My personality type thinks first – What will I do for 48 hours in silence? I know be silent is what we do but I’ve never sat still for anything like that.

It was amazing! I wrote down thoughts as they came to mind, solved some internal questions on why some things in my life bug me more than I think the should and made me realize that although I was out of touch not mu really happened that mattered in my life. I missed my wife and family a lot but they  approved and let me have some me time.

I will do this again and try for 96 hours but do it outside in the countryside instead of in the trunk of my car. No I really didn’t stay in the trunk of my car – just checking if you were paying attention.

How was your week?
