This week my lovely wife the Magnificent Maria had to have her wisdom teeth taken out so my schedule was reduced and we spent two entire evenings side by side. This should be the norm but for the past few years it has been rare. Running two businesses, learning a lot of new things about myself, about growing my businesses and raising a high school senior has had my head spinning.
Last night we sat and watched two movies together as it was the best night in a long time. We watched a fantastic animated movie called “Kubo and the Two Strings” which is now one of my favorite animated films. A true adventure with all the elements of the hero’s journey and some great music. The second movie was “Batteries Not Included” which a was also very entertaining and we both enjoyed it. It also had the elements of the hero’s journey.
This was a day that made me realize that I was not present in my family’s lives as much as I need to be both for them but especially for me. This was one of the first days I can say that I lived this day as if it was my last. Had I not woken up this morning my last day would have been my best.
How would you live today if it was you last? You will never know when that will be so do not wait to start living each day at full speed with all the gusto and enthusiasm you have. Don’t leave a drop of you heart unused when you head hits the pillow.
My name is Michael Puffer and I always keep my promises.
